About the program

The Black Lung program provides a thorough medical evaluation, treatment services, and pulmonary rehabilitation for active and inactive miners who suffer from the disease. It also provides educational programs to help respiratory disease patients and their families cope with the disease by improving their breathing and respiratory endurance, as well as their quality of life. This program was made available by a grant from the West Virginia Department of Health and the US Department of Health and Human Services.
